About Laura
I am passionate about teaching and arts. I am a singer-songwriter, a Psychologist (Universidad de La Sabana - Colombia) and nowadays I study early childhood education at Fanshawe College. I have experience as a music and body expression teacher for ESL, a drama teacher for primary and high school, and a language tutor (English and Spanish) for children between 6 and 14 years old at the Saint Matthew school in Colombia.

My first language is Spanish and I am willing to help people improve their Spanish in creative, student-centered, if desired artistic, and fun ways! I love to give my students memorable and suitable class experiences according to their needs and interests. For all the students my classes have three main parts: the first one is connection which is important in a way that lets us know each other and build trust (two important components of successful learning). The second one is the central learning experience (the what) that is built specifically for the student taking into account their needs and interests. And the last one is the reflection in which we reflect on what has been learned and how it can help the student (the why). Conversation is a main part of our classes. It helps a lot in improving the language. If desired, learning and understanding songs in a deep way could work a lot too! I prefer to teach online classes but I am open to other options in London Ontario. You are welcome to contact me if this sounds good for you!

Deadly! I'll sum up this review in one word "amazing" from the moment I met Laura I was put at ease with her carefree spirit. She emanates good energy and a positive attitude. Learning a new language can be a daunting process, but I must say Laura knows how to make it a fun experience.
