About Yunjae

I was born and raised in Korea and completed my mandatory Korean military service, so you can be sure you're learning real, everyday Korean. I also spent important years abroad — attending elementary and middle school in the U.S., later graduating from a U.S. university, and living and working in Australia for four years. Now based in Vienna, Austria, I work with students around the world. In my experience, struggling at the beginning is an essential part of our journey. I believe it's my job to be there through that process with patience, encouragement, and clear guidance. I actually expect students to "suck" at first — and that's why I'm here: to help you grow with zero judgment and real support. I have taught many Koreans who couldn’t speak a word of English to eventually study abroad or get accepted into colleges. I've also helped 2nd generation Koreans and adopted Korean children learn Korean, reconnect with their parents, and better understand Korean culture. My lessons focus on fun, real-world Korean — using trending dramas, viral clips, everyday conversations, Korean food culture and also K-pop. You'll be surprised how naturally you can pick up the language when you're having fun and connecting with the culture. I will always tailor our sessions to your interests, so you stay motivated and excited to learn. I’m great at explaining the culture behind the language, not just the grammar. I also have a personal method for helping students become fluent without stressing over complicated grammar rules. My goal is to make Korean feel real, natural, and alive for you.

About the lesson

Hi! I'm a native Korean speaker and a near-native English speaker.
I grew up in Korea, lived in the US from a young age, graduated from college there, and also spent 4 years living in Australia. Currently, I'm based in Vienna, Austria.

I have over 15 years of experience teaching English to Koreans, and now I help English speakers learn Korean — from the basics to more complex expressions and cultural nuances.

My lessons are:
