About Erika
Hello, I’m Erika! I grew up in Montreal, where I attended French school from a young age, and I’m fully bilingual in English and French. When I moved to Ottawa as a high school student, I began tutoring younger students in French and discovered how much I enjoy helping kids gain confidence with the language. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree and currently work as a consultant, but teaching and supporting learners has remained one of my favorite ways to use my bilingual background. Parents describe my approach as patient, organized, and encouraging. I make sure each child feels comfortable asking questions and confident using new words. With clear explanations, a calm teaching style, and a deep understanding of both languages, I aim to make learning French enjoyable and effective for every student.

The goal of my lessons is to provide one-on-one help with schoolwork, reading comprehension, writing assignments, and test preparation. I adapt explanations to each child’s level and make sure they understand their homework before moving on. I also prefer to conduct as much of the lesson in French as possible to create a more immersive experience.
