About Maria
Portuguese is my mother tongue. It's the language I've grown up speaking. Apart from that, I have studied the language throughout school and even went on to do my Masters in portuguese language and literature where I topped the class with the highest possible grade. I also speak Italian as I lived in Italy for a few years and I do believe that this is an added advantage. I have also worked in a company as a consecutive interpreter bridging the gap between english and portuguese speaking clients wherein I mostly dealt with medical related calls but also,insurance and finance based ones.

I believe that each student has a unique reason as to why they want to speak a certain language and my goal is to understand the motive behind the same and what they hope to get out of it. Accordingly, I would tailor my classes to suit the needs and aspiration of each student. The main way to learn a language is to speak it. My classes will focus on grammar, speaking and practicing the language, focusing on pronunciation, vocabulary , all the while making sure that the student feels at ease and relates to what is being taught. The goal is to make sure each student walks away happy and proud of being able to communicate in portuguese. After all, what is the point of learning a new language if one can't speak it properly?!! Então,vamos lá..juntos!
