About Igor
My pedagogy based on the Standards for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century. It’s organized into five goal areas, the Five C’s: Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities.
The Communication goal is central to the student text. For example, the diverse formats
used in the Communication activity in each lesson – pair work, small group work, class
circulation, information gap, task based, and so forth – engage students in communicative exchanges, providing and obtaining information, expressing feelings
and emotions.
We do some Projects that guide students in presenting information, concepts, and ideas to their classmates on a variety of topics and in varied ways – oral, written, recorded, and videotaped.
The Culture goal is most evident by exposing students to the multiple facets of practices, products, and perspectives of the French-speaking world. In keeping with the Connections goal, students can connect with other disciplines such as music, communications, business, geography, fine arts, history etc. To reach Connections and Communities goals students work and do different activities using Internet. As for the Comparisons goal, it is reflected in pronunciation and spelling sections of my lessons.
