About Simon

During my BA (Philosophy & Musicology) at the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Folkwang University of the Arts and my MLitt (Philosophy) at the University of St Andrews, I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of students of different ages and educational levels. I am currently working on my PhD in philosophy whilst teaching philosophical aesthetics at the University of Manchester.

About the lesson

Formal logic doesn't have to be scary! Based on your individual interests and needs, I can teach you the basics of
- sentential logic
- first-order logic
- modal logic,
as well as ways to evaluate or proof the validity of a given inference via
- truth tables
- semantic trees
- natural deduction.
We will work with both in-depth explanations of the relevant concepts and methods and, more importantly, many practical excercises. Discussing your answers on a one-on-one basis will help you nail your logic exams and improve your logical thinking in general!

Deadly! If you are thinking of studying with Simon, then I highly recommend you give it a go. Simon is an excellent tutor who has a deep interest in the subject of Philosophy and in making sure his students get the best possible learning experience. Initially, the focus of our lessons was on learning formal logic. After having several months of online sessions and finding them to be so informative and helpful in my understanding of the subject, I decided to continue lessons with Simon to discuss other areas of Philosophy, of which he has a great deal of knowledge. Overall, a brilliant experience. I would highly recommend studying with Simon.
