About Alyssa
Hello, my name is Alyssa! I have four years of teaching/tutoring/career preparation experience. I graduated from UT Austin with my degree in Communications and my Masters in Education from Arizona State University. I have spent the past three years as a special education teacher and a reading interventionist. My experiences include teaching in both a virtual and in-person setting, teaching elementary English, science, and math.
In my current role, I work with UT seniors on resume preparation, LinkedIn and Handshake profile visibility, internship applications, personal narratives for college admissions or graduate school applications, and interview preparation for entry-level jobs.

My lessons always include a review of prior knowledge and time to reflect/shout out. I use this approach because it’s always a great way to remember how far you’ve come and practice resiliency within an academic setting. My lessons are heavily narrative-based and help students workshop their lived experiences into compelling stories that get them hired.
I truly believe that an excellent education is a gateway to a choice filled life and I will ensure that all my students are given the tools they need to reach their fullest potential.
