About Joe
I was a high school history teacher and department chair for over 10 years, working in one of the top 20 largest school systems in the United States. I then worked for the district as a social studies curriculum writer and professional development specialist. I then joined an educational technology company over 10 years ago where I continue to write and manage teams. My students appreciated my approach to teaching - making content relatable, engaging, and instilling an intrinsic interest in history and civics that may not have been there prior to my class.

My approach focuses on historical thinking skills: sourcing, contextualization, corroboration, close reading, and claim and evidence.
