About Iréné

I was born in Saint-Etienne in France and moved to England when I was 24 to be with my English girlfriend! I have a French degree in psychology and a PGCE in languages with the University of Sheffield. I became a language teacher and have been working in schools for over 20 years and taught a lot of amazing hyping people. I now specialise in helping adults who want to move or work in France. I love meeting brave people who want to change their lives and I love helping them to be successful. I have developed my own method which consist of teaching my students formally at least once a week accompanied with several audio messages throughout the week. The constant communication ensures rapid progress.

About the lesson

Teaching, especially teaching a language is all about communication and confidence. I am extremely successful in ensuring my students develop not only the necessary skills but also the belief that they can do it. I use a lot of original material such as adverts, songs, extracts of films, newspaper articles to talk about topics that interest my tutees. I listen to the French radio every morning so I keep up with the national issues.
I have 22 years’ experience of teaching A level and GCSE in schools and privately and I love seeing my students getting the best results possible.
I can be flexible regarding the length of the lessons, I believe that the best model to master a language is to use it as much as possible, I therefore recommend 2 lessons a week (45 minutes each).
