About Matthew
About Me Hello! My name is Matthew, and I am a certified Ontario teacher with nearly a decade of classroom and tutoring experience. I specialize in French, Spanish, Social Sciences, Religion, and ESL, and I have worked with students from elementary through university levels. Experience Language Teaching: • Certified bilingual through the University of Ottawa’s Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute • Over 7 years teaching French Immersion and Extended French (Grades 5–12) in Ontario • Former ESL teacher in Taiwan (2014–2016) and online ESL instructor (2017–2022) • Spanish instruction and tutoring experience Tutoring Background: • University of Ottawa peer tutor (2010–2014) • Private tutoring for children, teens, and adults seeking help in French, Spanish, and English • Skilled at exam preparation, conversational fluency, grammar, writing, and homework support Education & Credentials Bachelor of Social Science (French Immersion), University of Ottawa Master of Public Service, University of Waterloo Bachelor of Education, St. Thomas University Certified Teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) — teachables: French, Spanish, Social Sciences, Religion English: Native French: C2 Spanish: C1 Outside of the classroom, I enjoy working out, cooking, yoga, and travel.
