About Mitchell
With over 4 years of experience teaching French, I love helping complete beginners feel at ease as they take their first steps in the language. I hold a Master of Arts in French Language and Literature with a focus on Francophone cultures, and I bring both academic insight and creative energy to my lessons. My teaching style is warm, patient, and sprinkled with humour to keep things light and enjoyable. I specialise in teaching French for creative hobbies and leisure activities—like knitting, gardening, or painting. I use project-based learning to make vocabulary and grammar feel natural and fun. Lessons often include visual aids, tool labels, and simple narratives that connect language with hands-on interests. By using real-life contexts and familiar passions, I help students stay motivated and curious. I focus on building confidence, especially when it comes to describing your work, sharing ideas, or following instructions in French. Many of my students have gone from knowing nothing to joyfully talking about their favourite pastimes in French. I believe that language grows best when it’s tied to what you love. My teaching approach focuses on helping students communicate clearly and confidently in real-life situations, especially when talking about fashion and personal style. I design lessons around practical vocabulary like clothing types, colours, fabrics, and accessories. We also explore how to describe outfits, express opinions on trends, and talk about what’s in style in France. I use diverse visual sources such as fashion magazines, lookbooks, and style blogs to make each lesson engaging and relevant. My goal is to build useful language skills through practical, everyday descriptions. We’ll practice how to talk about what people are wearing, compare styles, and understand cultural references in French fashion. For students who are new to the language or learning it for fun, I provide simple, step-by-step guidance. I’m especially good at helping learners develop comfort with speaking, even if they’re just starting out. Through repetition, examples, and creative expression, I make sure learners grow in both vocabulary and confidence. I also introduce everyday expressions used in fashion-related conversations, helping you sound natural and informed. Each lesson is a mix of conversation, listening, and guided practice. With my support, you’ll soon be able to talk about fashion in French with ease and personality.
