About Marie
I am a private teaching professional and have been working with ESL/ESOL students for the past nine years. I have worked with many adult professionals looking to increasing their speaking and writing abilities, as well as school-age children. My students have been very happy to increase grades, as well as feel much more confident in their abilities to use English in their places of work and in social situations. Students have also worked with me on professional documents such as resumes and portfolios, as well as interview preparation, and have told me they are much more ready to do their best work after our time together.

My teaching methods are fueled by using students' immediate needs and interests to use content that will be motivating and capture their attention. I truly enjoy finding my students’ specific goals and making a concrete plan so that we can achieve them. It is so important for language students to have consistent positive experiences with the language they want to learn and to experience success, or it is too easy to give up. It is a goal of mine to train my students to set mini, very specific goals so that they can see and feel their progress and want to keep going.
