Dr Charlie Rozier is an excellent historian. He has taught at a wide range of higher education institutions covering medieval history, research methods and postgraduate-level research skills. He has experience of teaching a wide range of students, including those from non-traditional backgrounds. His pedagogy is inclusive and insightful. He has a warm approachable manner, his feedback is clear constructive and students speak very highly of him. Several Canterbury students going into their third year are undertaking medieval dissertations thanks to Dr Rozier's excellent teaching in their second year.

Dr Rozier is also a first-rate researcher and brings his expertise to bear in ensuring students are benefitting from teaching informed by the latest developements in the field. He is highly regarded both nationally and internationally as can be seen by his work with the Haskins Society, one of the leading scholarly associations in the field. Having worked with Dr Rozier both as a colleague at CCCU and as a co-editor on a book project I can testify to his collegiality and excellence in all areas of historical study,

I co-taught with Charlie for several years: wide-ranging introductory modules in medieval history for first-year undergraduates at a Russel Group university.
