About Akon
I enjoy teaching French because I love seeing the moment a learner goes from struggling to express an idea to finally putting it into words with confidence. For me, those little moments of progress are what make teaching worthwhile.
When working with a student, I first try to understand their needs, what they find difficult, and what they hope to achieve. I don't believe in using the same approach for everyone. Some students need help speaking more freely, while others want to improve their grammar, vocabulary, reading, or writing in French. I shape my lessons around these differences.
My classes are interactive and practical. We might work through everyday conversations, explore new words, correct sentences together, or practice a particular skill. I like to keep explanations clear and encourage students to use French rather than simply memorize rules.
I also believe that a student should never feel ashamed of making mistakes. Learning takes practice, and I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, trying again, and discovering what works for them. I approach each lesson with patience, preparation, and a genuine interest in the learner's progress.
I welcome children, teenagers, beginners, and adults who want to improve their French for school, everyday communication, travel, or personal growth. Whatever your starting point, we can work towards your goals one lesson at a time.
**My aim is to help you move beyond knowing French to feeling comfortable and confident using it.**
