About Isabella

My name is Isabella Malik, and I am a 20-year-old university student currently in my second year of a BSc Psychology degree at University College London (UCL), having achieved a first-class grade in my first year.

I completed Triple Science at an international school in Brunei, although I am originally from the UK, achieving all 9s in my IGCSEs. I subsequently completed A-Levels in AQA Biology and Chemistry and CIE Psychology. During this time, I developed a strong and comprehensive understanding of each syllabus, as well as how to effectively apply my knowledge in examinations. I feel particularly confident teaching Psychology, as I have continued to develop my knowledge through my university studies, as well as Biology, in which I achieved an A*.

I grew up in a very academic household, with both of my parents working as teachers, and my father being a Biology teacher. As a result, I have gained a strong understanding of how to communicate complex information clearly and effectively, as well as how to tailor lessons to suit individual students and their learning needs. I understand that every student learns differently, and I aim to adapt my teaching style to ensure that concepts are explained in a way that is clear, accessible and suited to each individual.

About the lesson

I like to build a good rapport with my students so that lessons feel comfortable, friendly and enjoyable. I tailor each lesson to your individual strengths and weaknesses, focusing on the areas where you need the most support.

Alongside explaining difficult topics, I can provide helpful revision tips and resources, including active recall techniques, to help you study more effectively outside of lessons. I also share exam technique and advice based on my own experience studying these subjects and preparing for GCSEs and A-Levels.

Lessons are typically around 1 hour, but I am happy to be flexible depending on your needs. I offer tutoring for GCSE Biology and Chemistry, as well as A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology - these are subjects I have studied intensely and feel I can provide a lot of insight into.
