About Jenny
Most students do not struggle because they cannot write. They struggle because no one has shown them how to break it down.
I’m an English instructor and school counselor with more than 25 years of experience working with students from upper elementary through college. I specialize in helping students turn confusion into clear, organized writing they can feel confident submitting.
I’ve spent over 15 years teaching college-level writing, including English Composition and research-based courses, so I understand exactly what instructors are looking for. I help students improve grades by focusing on structure, clarity, and strong development of ideas. Whether you are starting from scratch or revising a draft, we work step by step to make writing more manageable and effective.
I also have extensive experience supporting students who need extra guidance, including those with 504 plans and other accommodations. I adjust my approach to meet each student’s needs so they can succeed in a way that works for them.
Students I work with typically leave sessions with clearer ideas, stronger drafts, and a better understanding of how to approach future assignments independently. My goal is not just to help you complete an assignment, but to help you build skills and confidence that carry forward.

If writing feels confusing or overwhelming, you are not alone. Most students just need someone to show them how to break it down.
My approach to tutoring is practical, supportive, and focused on helping students become more confident and independent writers. I work with students at multiple levels, from upper elementary through college, and I meet them where they are. Whether you are trying to get started or improve a final draft, I help make the writing process clear and manageable.
We break writing down into steps: understanding the assignment, organizing ideas, building strong paragraphs, and revising with purpose. I focus on clarity and critical thinking so students are not just finishing an assignment, but actually improving their skills.
A typical session is hands-on. We review your assignment or draft, discuss what is working and what needs improvement, and make specific changes together. I give clear, direct feedback and explain why something works so you can apply it on your own next time.
I also help with literature analysis, research writing, and MLA or APA formatting. Whether you need help brainstorming, outlining, or polishing a final paper, I can guide you through each step.
I have extensive experience working with students who need extra support, including those with 504 plans and other accommodations. I am patient, flexible, and adjust my approach so each student can succeed in a way that works for them.
What sets me apart is my experience teaching writing at both the high school and college levels for more than 25 years. I know what instructors expect and how to help students meet those expectations. I also create a calm, comfortable environment where students feel okay asking questions and learning from the process.
My lessons are a good fit for upper elementary, middle school, high school, dual enrollment, and college students who need help with writing, literature, or research-based assignments.
