About Harrison
Hey there! I’m Harrison — a soon-to-be university graduate who’s as passionate about English as I am about football (I even played for Crystal Palace’s youth team, so you know I’ve got dedication!). I never scored lower than a B in any of my GCSEs, including A* grades in both English Literature and Language. At A-level, I studied English Literature, History, and Sport, and even completed an EPQ on why rap lyrics deserve a spot in GCSE poetry studies — because why shouldn’t Shakespeare share the stage with hip-hop? When I’m not coaching words into shape, you’ll find me jamming on my guitar (fair warning: I’m better at teaching than playing!), binge-watching films and cartoons, or nerding out over superhero comics and Star Wars. With a calm and friendly approach, I make learning English fun and confidence-boosting, tailored to each student’s style. So, if you want an English tutor who’s as good with Shakespeare as I am with a football, and who believes learning should be enjoyable (and maybe a little nerdy), I’m your guy!

My Approach to Tutoring I believe that learning English should be enjoyable and build confidence. My teaching style is calm, patient, and tailored to each child’s unique needs and pace. Drawing on my experience coaching children in sports, I know how important encouragement and positive reinforcement are for progress. I also use effective techniques learnt from my mother, who works with SEN children. This has helped me develop personalised methods that support different learning styles, making lessons accessible and fun. Typically, lessons last 45–60 minutes — long enough to focus but short enough to keep attention sharp. I cover everything from phonics and spelling to reading comprehension, creative writing, and exam prep. I tutor children aged 7–16, from beginners to GCSE level, helping them build not only skills but a genuine love for English.
