About Heather

I am a middle aged woman who excelled at everything I did academically, but I especially excelled in Spanish, the wonderful language that enchanted and hooked me from my first Spanish class in high school to my year in Mexico after college on a Fulbright Scholarship and in my daily opportunities to speak Spanish and help others learn it! I still see one of my old Spanish professors all these years (about twenty of them) later and nerd out about the language.

I can't wait to enjoy helping you improve your Spanish or English skills and to try finding something that you might get hooked on too!

About the lesson

I am a versatile Spanish and English tutor and love trying to solve the puzzle of how to help you learn more and get over whatever stumbling blocks are in front of you.

My approach with tutoring starts with just that: you telling me about the areas you are having difficulties. With this as our guide - improving in the areas most important to YOU - I will provide a number of strategies to help you see improvement in those areas and reinforce and solidify the strategies we find most successful.

I tailor my tutoring sessions to each student and our focus is always on you and your goals. I can help you or your child perform better in Spanish classes o en su clase de ingles, I can teach you conversational Spanish for your vacation later this year, I can give you more memorization tricks than you can shake a stick at, and there's chance I can make the process fun for you at the same time!

In addition to providing Spanish and English tutoring services ($30 for 30min sessions or $40 for 45min sessions), I can translate documents for you (in either direction: English to Spanish & vice versa) at $.07/word. I also provide copy editing & proofreading services for documents in either language, fixing or improving grammar, syntax, verb tense, collocation and idiomatic errors, correcting or improving sentence structure, maximizing coherence in the document as well as the reader's/intended audience's understanding of the subject manner at $30/hour.
