Hello! I'm Sophie. I am a graduate of Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. I received my Bachelor of Arts in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Education and am a licensed K-12 ELL (English Language Learner) teacher. After graduation, I spent 2 years living overseas, teaching 1st grade in Saipan and middle school ESL in Guam. I spent the rest of my teaching career in Minnesota teaching K-6 elementary ELL classes, foundational reading skills, and academic language for mathematics. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English grammar, literature, and all forms of creative writing. As a tutor, I center every lesson around YOU! We will use your hopes, dreams, and goals to create an education plan for success. Each lesson will follow the I DO (model/example), WE DO (practice together), YOU DO (independent practice) approach.
