About Vidhya

I have been a private tutor of advanced programming skills in C and C++ for 3 years. I have helped various students in developing their programming skills by giving them personal time and attention. Some of them are planning to pursue computer science in their bachelor's degree, and some have already landed in top universities with computer science as their major in graduation. I have completed my master's degree in mathematics and computing. So, I have relevant experience with C, C++, and Java. During my significant experience with teaching, I have realized that with a little patience and dedication, we as teachers can completely transform the future of our students. We can give them the right direction and hope to build a bright future. We can also make things interesting for our students if we deliver them in the right way.

About the lesson

Coding skills primarily originate from a solid background in mathematical logic and reasoning. In my 3 years of academic life, I have been constantly acquainted with coding in one way or another. I have about 3 years of experience in teaching basic programming in C and C++. My lessons are deeply designed based on the online courses of popular learning platforms like Coursera and Udemy. I personally get involved with my students to tackle a new problem every day. I teach computer science with the help of interesting videos and articles. It is not a pen and paper work. It is always practical, on a laptop, and full of fun!! I am sure that you would start loving to code with me, and if you already love coding, you'll become passionate about it.

Good! Vidhya contacted me only once by the way of accepting to give a class in the SuperProf system, but then there was no follow up via email or phone call. She then raised her price from Rs 500 to Rs 800. This is not a judgment on her teaching abilities, nor have I really interacted with her. I am leaving this evaluation only as a response because one fine day, she leaves an evaluation "Never contact the student, all contact details are not valid". I found this to be a bit random - how can she opine that other teachers should "never" contact the student, especially when she never made an attempt to contact either? I hope she is a great Java teacher, but it seems she could be a little bit more appropriate and fair in her feedback and communication.

What motivates you to teach & why?
I am passionate towards teaching. It's the best service you could offer to enlighten young minds.
The best moments for me is when I witness my students grasp the concepts and there is no better reward than helping students finally reach clarity.
When did you start developing an interest in your subject area?
I developed a keen interest towards my subject when I did my high school. Even then, I started teaching my colleagues. It helped me in learning also since it was a revision process for me then.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
My role model is was my high school teacher who always had a great clarity and simplification on each concepts.
What is the biggest obstacle you had to overcome in mastering your craft? *
My biggest obstacle was to come up with a method for every students as they are not the same people and different learning abilities.
In your opinion, what makes someone excel in your subject area?
When it comes to learning to programming, understand the basics and good coding practices can make you excel to solve the real world problems.
What would you say to a student who says, "This is too difficult, I give up!"?
Nothing is too difficult, you have to understand the logic behind the subject and then the rest is all in your hands.
