About Sam
My experience balancing academic studies with elite sport has taught me that progress comes from consistency, curiosity and belief. Certainly in learning languages consistency is invaluable and I would love to provide that extra consistent learning to another student. Furthermore, now that I am taking a gap year to further develop my own career as a professional athlete, I hope to pass on my knowledge and use my expertise to help students develop, rather than just simply teaching content.
Having recently completed my A-Levels, I can certainly relate to the challenges students face, and my qualifications as a ski instructor will further help me to support my students in working towards their potential.

I believe that grasping the understanding of the language is the key to success. My lessons will be relaxed, but also engaging and tailored to the needs of the student and their individual goals. I love learning the cultural history of a language and the reasons for evolution in the way it is both spoken and understood.
As a qualified ski instructor and someone who has been in an elite athlete environment, especially in France, I understand the value of clear communication and possess the skills for teaching students of differing abilities. In my lessons, problem solving and independent thinking will be encouraged, as well as hoping to inspire students with organisation strategies and resilient mindsets.
I hope to instil a passion for French and promote a desire for researching outside of the core curriculum, and encourage confidence in students, asking questions and immersing themselves in the language to develop a broader and deeper cultural and analytical mindset when it comes to foreign languages.
Typical lesson lengths will be an hour, however I am fully flexible for longer or shorter lessons should that suit students better.
