About Abbie
As a dedicated English Language and Literature undergraduate, I bring both strong subject knowledge and a clear understanding of the current GCSE specifications. Having achieved an A Level in English Language and completed my GCSEs relatively recently, I am very familiar with modern exam formats and assessment expectations, particularly for AQA and Edexcel.
I have experience working in an SEN school, where I developed patience, adaptability, and the ability to support a range of learning needs. In addition, I have provided ongoing academic support at Key Stage 4 level, including GCSE preparation.
I approach tutoring with professionalism, reliability, and clear communication. Lessons are structured, focused, and tailored to each student’s goals. My priority is to ensure students feel supported, challenged appropriately, and fully prepared to perform confidently in their exams.

I provide structured, exam-focused GCSE English support designed to help students confidently achieve higher grades.
I take a supportive but structured approach to tutoring GCSE English Language and Literature, with a strong focus on AQA and Edexcel exam requirements. My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual strengths and areas for development, and I work closely with the assessment objectives to ensure students understand exactly how to gain marks.
In lessons, we focus on building clear paragraph structure, developing thoughtful analysis, using subject terminology accurately, and improving exam timing. I guide students through model examples and then support them in applying techniques independently so they gain both skill and confidence.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and include explanation, practice, and detailed feedback.
I achieved an A Level in English Language and am currently studying English Language and Literature at university. I have experience working in an SEN school and supporting Key Stage 4 students, including helping my younger brothers with GCSE preparation.
My lessons are designed for students in Years 9–11 who want to strengthen their writing, improve exam performance, and work towards grades 5–9.

My hourly rate reflects personalised, structured lessons tailored to each student's needs. I provide support for GCSE English Language and Literature, as well as KS2 and KS3 English. Lessons focus on exam technique, essay structure, analysis skills and building confidence.
I also offer help with homework, revision planning and targeted exam preparation. Discounts may be available for regular weekly bookings.
