About Sky-Ellise

Hi, I'm Sky,, a friendly and relatable tutor. I help GCSE students improve essay structure, analysis and exam technique to raise their grades quickly and confidently.

I achieved strong academic results at both GCSE and A-Level, including A* in Law and Sociology, an A in English Literature and multiple GCSE grade 8s and 9s. I am currently completing a solicitor degree apprenticeship, which has further developed my analytical writing, communication and critical thinking skills.

Alongside my studies and apprenticeship, I have previous tutoring experience through my school's tutoring programme, where I supported GCSE students with English and Maths.

Having completed these qualifications recently myself, I understand the pressures students can face and the importance of building both confidence and effective exam technique. My aim is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their skills and making steady progress.

Outside of tutoring and work, I enjoy reading, writing and staying up-to-date with law-related news. This helps me bring enthusiasm and real-world context into my lessons.

About the lesson

My lessons are supportive, structured and tailored to each student's individual needs and academic goals. I primarily teach GCSE and A-Level students in English Literature, Sociology and Law, helping students improve confidence, essay-writing skills, analytical ability and exam technique.

I achieved top grades in both GCSEs and A-Levels, including A* in A-Level Law and Sociology, an A in English Literature and multiple GCSE grade 8s and 9s, including grade 9 in English Literature and Sociology. I am also currently completing a solicitor degree apprenticeship, which has strengthened my analytical writing, communication and critical thinking skills.

Alongside this, I have previous tutoring experience through my school's tutoring programme, where I supported GCSE students in English and Maths.

Lessons are typically one hour long and delivered online. In the first lesson, I like to identify a student's current strengths, areas for improvement and academic goals so that sessions can be adapted effectively to their needs.

My teaching methodology focuses on clear explanations, guided practice, model answers and structured exam technique. I break down difficult concepts into manageable steps and encourage students to build confidence through practice and discussion. I also use essay structures, revision techniques and exam-style questions to help students apply their knowledge effectively and improve performance over time.

My lessons are suitable for students working towards GCSEs and A-Levels, whether they are aiming to build confidence, improve grades, or prepare for upcoming exams.
