About Olivia

my name is Olivia, and I love teaching almost as much as I love to learn. But it has not always been so simple, and I spent a lot of my younger years finding tests very challenging, and just not "getting it". I then started to pay attention to mark schemes, and look into exactly what the examiners wanted from me - and adapted my revision and learning to the questions I was actually being asked. My scores skyrocketed and it's my goal to share my knowledge with others in an attempt to help. I have had access to exclusive examiner reports, and "inside info" from tutors, teachers and friends and I truly think there is a unique insight I can provide.

About the lesson

I am a high-achieving sixth-form student currently studying the IB Diploma, offering tutoring across KS3, GCSE, and general academic support. I achieved nine Grade 9s at GCSE, including full marks in English Literature and Art, and over 95% in Religious Studies and Geography.
I love learning and enjoy teaching, focusing on helping students understand ideas clearly, build confidence, and develop effective exam techniques. My teaching methodology combines structured explanations, interactive examples, and practical exercises - with a particular focus on the mark schemes, furthermore I try to empathise adapting to each student’s learning style and pace.
Typical lessons last 60 minutes, with time for questions, practice, and review, though I am happy to adjust based on student needs. Alongside subject-specific tutoring, I also support students with essay structure, organisation, study skills, and independent learning, preparing them for exams and long-term academic success.
I have experience working with children through babysitting and running clubs, and I am patient, approachable, and clear in my explanations. Lessons are available online or in person, and are suitable for students of all levels, ages, and abilities, especially those preparing for GCSEs or looking to strengthen their confidence and understanding across a range of subjects.
