About Guenter
I lived many years as a freelance IT professional in the German spoken European Union (DE, AT, CH) until I moved to the US continuing my IT profession until I had the chance to teach IT at the undergraduate and graduate level at a local university. The satisfaction to successfully help others reach their goals got me hooked. I took a multi-year sabbatical to keep my connection to real world topics, avoiding to become too academic and lose sight of where the real need in education lies.
I will start on my Ph.D. this summer.

I am an Austrian-born native German speaker who lived many years in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland and moved finally to the US. My teaching experience comes from years as full-time faculty at a private US University where I taught IT. I helped Austrian Mittelschullehrer (High School Teachers) preparing for their IT classes under the auspices of the Austrian Ministry of Education.
Teaching is, as is also true for most if not all of my teaching peers, a passion. Having a teenager at home taught me to extend both patience and flexibility. My experience at the college made me understand that things that seem obvious to an expert may be far from that obvious for the not-yet-expert, which is why I continuously verify that what I thought I taught actually arrived and extended the student's understanding.
