About Barbara
Hi, my name is Barbara! I'm a college student, currently completing my degree in German language and literature. At my university, I frequently help out with tutoring in our language department, and I am so excited to share my knowledge further and meet students from all over. Learning and teaching the German language is something I've always been passionate about, so I can't wait to continue to teach in a relaxed, productive and fun manner, and customize my lessons accordingly.

As a college student myself, I understand how tough it can be to learn a language while balancing classes, work, and life.
Additionally, as a non-native speaker myself, I can put myself into the perspective of someone learning the language, as opposed to having it naturally ingrained in them. My focus is on building confidence first, so German feels usable, not intimidating.
How the Tutoring Works
Speaking Comes First
From the start, we focus on real conversation. Making mistakes is part of the process and fully encouraged.
German for Everyday Life
Lessons are built around real situations:
College and student life
Travel and social interactions
Talking about yourself, your goals, and your interests
Grammar is introduced naturally, only when it helps you communicate better.
Culture Included
We use music, short videos, slang, and cultural context so German feels alive and relevant.
-Personalized Sessions
Each session adapts to your goals, whether that’s:
-Studying abroad
-Preparing for internships or careers
-Improving conversational skills
-Academic support
My Approach
Relaxed and supportive
No pressure, no judgment.
Mistakes are welcomed
Learning feels like a conversation, not a lecture
The Goal
German becomes something you actually use, not just something you study.
