About Rodrigo

Hello!

Do you want to improve your language skills or learn a new one? I'm sure I can help you achieve your goals!

My name is Rodrigo Schumm, and languages have been my lifelong passion! I'm a polyglot who speaks, teaches, and works in seven languages: Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, and Russian.

Having studied and learned languages my whole life, I know what you need as a student to progress quickly!

My classes are fun and focus on getting you speaking your target language as quickly as possible!
I'll have you speak and correct your mistakes so you can improve all aspects of your class, such as vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar, in a natural and friendly way, without feeling like you're being challenged or being subjected to traditional grammar lectures so typical in the classroom.
I also prepare for international exams like the TOEFL with practical exercises similar to those you'll face on the exam.

I am Chilean-German and I was fortunate to have German spoken at home, in addition to having studied at the German School in Santiago.
I started teaching languages in 2011 while I was at university studying Political Science, so I have 15 years of experience! I've never stopped teaching languages and, in fact, I've worked full-time both as a freelance teacher and for a company, teaching individual and group language classes, both in person and in groups.

Currently, I focus primarily on simultaneous conference interpreting and document translation, but I'm always excited to help people achieve their language goals!
