About Leanie
Hi, my name is Léanie. My first language is French, as I was born and raised in Quebec. Although I did most of my schooling in French, I still went to college in English, allowing me to teach outside of my province as well. In school, French was the easiest subject for me. I always had good grades, and I didn't have to put much effort into it. I liked helping others with what I knew best, as I was also being helped in other classes. I know what it's like being tutored outside of school hours, or even during the summer, and it is not always easy. It can be hard and demoralizing for many students. That is why I do my best in creating space for fun in my lessons and establishing a sense of trust. I am a very kind and patient person and I gained most of my experience working with younger children. I look forward to teaching you! :)

I teach French from elementary school to high school. I can help you with your French lessons, your homework, or even help you learn the language, and the basics. Depending on your level, when it comes to teaching French, I will normally start the first lessons pretty slowly, allowing you to familiarize yourself with the subject. I start with sounds, vowels, consonants, and work hard on pronunciation. To me, learning a language is all about listening and repeating, along with knowing the basics of sounds and light reading. The rest, like grammar, is added progressively to the vocabulary, depending on your learning pace. When it comes to helping with school lessons and homework, I have the knowledge, skills and patience for it. I will adapt my lessons depending on your needs and provide you with the help necessary.
