About Sasikala

Sasikala Rajeswaran was born in Calcutta and then shifted to Chennai. Her formative years were spent in both these places where she did her schooling and graduate studies. This gave her exposure to three languages specifically, Bengali, Sanskrit and Tamil. Tamil was her first language up to graduation. Her interest in languages made her also acquire a rudimentary knowledge of German.
The world of Calcutta introduced her to Rabindra Sangeet and Bengali Khayals which she plays on the Hawaian guitar, her teacher then being Guru Nalini Debdutt. Chennai exposed her to the world of Carnatic music, which she has learnt and practised for over a couple of decades, her last teacher who looked upon her as her protégé, was Guru Karpagam. She is presently engaged in learning both Veena - from Guru Shobhana and Hindustani music from Guru Nihaarika Sinha. She also plays the keyboard. She is an avid yoga practitioner trained by the Madras Sanskrit College.

About the lesson

The class is intended for anyone who has a flair for music.
The teaching techniques are tailor-made as per the student.
The classes are one hour / once a week.
If the teacher and the student are satisfied, then move to next lesson. Otherwise, practice again and again till both are comfortable.
