I hold a Master of Information Technology from Melbourne, Australia, and have spent the last 6 years teaching, with a specialized focus on GMAT Quantitative preparation. My background sits at an intersection that's genuinely useful for GMAT Quant: an internationally trained, technical postgraduate degree combined with real-world classroom experience refining how to teach quantitative reasoning under time pressure.

International academic exposure: Having studied in Australia gives me firsthand insight into what international MBA admissions committees and Western academic environments expect — useful context for candidates preparing to study abroad, not just students preparing for a test.
Technical/quantitative foundation: An IT master's degree means the underlying math, logic, and data reasoning that GMAT Quant tests aren't abstract to me — I've used similar analytical thinking in a technical postgraduate program myself.
6 years of teaching experience: This isn't theoretical knowledge of "how people learn math" — it's 6 years of watching where real students get stuck, which mistakes are common vs. rare, and which explanations actually land versus which ones sound good but don't stick.

About the lesson

My approach is shortcut- and estimation-heavy rather than formula-first. Most students entering GMAT prep have been trained to solve every problem the "textbook way" — full algebra, complete calculations, exhaustive casework. That approach is too slow for a timed test. I teach students to recognize patterns quickly, estimate before computing, and choose the fastest correct path rather than the most "complete" one — an approach closely aligned with Target Test Prep's methodology.
Every unit starts with diagnostic work to identify whether a gap is conceptual (student doesn't understand the underlying math) or executional (student understands it but is too slow or error-prone under time pressure). These require very different fixes, and treating them the same wastes study time.
I also maintain error log frameworks with students — tracking not just wrong answers, but why they went wrong (misread, wrong method, timing pressure, careless slip), so review time targets the real problem instead of just redoing similar questions.
