About Alana
Hello! I'm a recent University of York graduate with a 2:1 BSc in Linguistics and a passion for language and education. I enjoy helping students gain confidence in their abilities and believe everyone can improve with the right guidance and encouragement. My goal is to make learning approachable, engaging and tailored to each student's needs, creating a positive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and celebrating their progress.

As a Grade 9 achiever in AQA GCSE English Language, I understand what examiners look for in high-scoring responses. My lessons focus on understanding mark schemes, developing effective essay structures, and building the skills needed to answer exam questions with confidence. I have experience working one-to-one with children through my volunteering in primary schools and aim to create a friendly, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
Standard lessons are 60 minutes long and tailored for students studying AQA GCSE English Language. Together, we'll work through past papers, analyse model answers and review your own work with personalised feedback to help build confidence and improve exam performance.
