About Libby
Hello!
My name is Libby and I am a student at the University of Leicester.
I play the flute, piccolo, piano, guitar, bass guitar and drums! But I mainly teach beginner to intermediate flute and music theory.
I have had the privilege of playing in many bands over years, from the wonderful orchestra at Sheffield Music Hub, to a tiny Irish folk band, so what ever your style or favourite genre, I will be sure to help you develop!
I have much experience teaching children of a wide range of ages, not only in music but also in dance, and this has allowed me to gain an attention to detail which will help your musical skills to blossom. Through this I have picked up a wide range of techniques and fun exercises.
Covid has given me lots of experience in teaching online, and online learning allows flexible and convenient lessons.

Hi!
My name is Libby and I'm a student of the University of Leicester. Music is my passion and I play a wide range of instruments, including the flute.
I have 10 years experience in the flute and I have played in a wide range of bands, orchestras and concerts over the years.
I have a grade 8 in the flute, a grade 5 in music theory and experience in teaching. I teach all ages from beginner level, up to grade 5 standard and usually deliver my hour long lessons online.
I believe that music is creative and individual so I change my teaching styles to suit the pupil, however I don't push my pupils to take exams and rather help them progress through exploring different styles and learning new pieces. Music is taught through exploration and enjoyment ~ not scales! (Although scales are important too!)
