About Thea
I wear many hats in my professional life, but the one area I am most passionate about is education. I have taught refugees how to speak English to writing their first job application. I teach mental health courses that can save lives. I teach persons with disabilities how to work with a trained service dog to gain independence. Seeing students succeed is the greatest gift and truly a sense of purpose in my life.
And I never forget... the teacher is also the student!

I teach you how to learn, how to figure out the problem and how to trust your own abilities. I work as a coach with 40 years experience helping people of all ages to reach their potential.
Fun is essential and it is the core of how I engage students. Fun is the motivation with the prize of personal success!
My focus is on teens to adult learners. Designated tutoring time is according to the student's needs but a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 3 hours per session.
As a certified ESL instructor, graduate of a top ranked Canadian university and published author I bring all of those skills to sessions. In Canada I was an employment specialist for persons with disabilities, particularly mental health and conducted assessments for education upgrades of adult clients. I am also a mental health worker, life coach and creative artist.
Education is the one thing that can never be taken from you!
