About Elena
Hello! My name is Elena, my online students typically call me Miss Elena. I have four years of experience teaching, my degree is in Elementary Education. I am working toward a Master's Degree in teaching English as a second language or ESL. Teaching students how to read using phonics practice has been such a joy, I love seeing students progress and grow as confident readers. I have been tutoring online for a year now. My lessons are geared toward elementary school students who need extra practice reading. I have years of experience as a teacher that I would love to use to help students grow as readers.
A typical lesson with me includes,
-A phonics mastery review
-Letter-sound coordination practice
-Decoding work
-Practice blending and chunking words
-Reading grade-appropriate texts together
-Encouragement and positive reinforcement :)
