About Christen
Christen Morrell is a professionally trained Vocalist, Songwriter, Producer, DJ and EDI Performer from Annapolis, Maryland. At 17, she self-produced her first acoustic album, which charted in the top 10 of SoundCloud’s, ‘New Singer/Songwriter Top 50’; and has since released multiple solo and co-produced tracks under her Artist project, Christen Morrell. As a Berklee College of Music alumna, she studied Songwriting and Production, specializing in Indie, Electronic, EDM and Pop music. During her time in Boston, she worked as a DJ for wedding and corporate events along the Northeast Coast. Christen also works closely with organizations such as She Knows Tech, We Are Moving the Needle, and Girls Make Beats in efforts to close the gender gap within Music Technology. Currently residing in LA, Christen is working as a session songwriter/producer, as well as part-time music instructor. Her teaching resume includes highlights such as Girls Make Beats NYC Ableton course in collaboration with Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group, as well as one-on-one EDI mentorships with the Ableton Push. Through her work as an artist, teacher, and friend, Christen loves helping her students reach their musical goals, while providing a fun and positive environment.

Music Production: Guide students through the intricacies of digital audio workstations (DAWs), audio recording, editing, and mixing techniques within Ableton. I'll cover the basics of sound design, arrangement, and equip you to produce professional-quality tracks.
Electronic Performance: Learn how to perform electronically with Ableton live. We'll cover live-looping, how to program your gear, MIDI Mapping, tips+tricks of creating a seamless and entertaining live-show!
Songwriting and Composition: Students will be taught the art of crafting compelling lyrics, structuring melodies, and exploring innovative songwriting techniques. This will empower students to express their thoughts and emotions through music effectively.
Vocal Training: As a vocalist, I provide my students with comprehensive vocal training, helping them understand and master essential techniques such as breath control, pitch accuracy, vocal range expansion, tone modulation, and expression. You'll be guided in developing a strong and confident singing voice across various musical genres.
Performance Coaching: Provides valuable performance coaching, helping students develop stage presence, confidence, and charisma in a positive and open environment! This will prepare students for live gigs, concerts, and other musical opportunities.
Personalized Learning: Recognizing that each student has unique strengths and areas for improvement, we can tailor your lessons to meet individual needs. This personalized approach empowers students to progress at their own pace and excel in their chosen areas of interest. :)
