About Stephanie
Hi! My name is Stephanie and I have my master's degree in Creative Writing. I have used this degree to edit novels, essays, podcasts, blog posts, memoirs, and more. Now, I am teaching others how to write a narrative through whichever medium they choose, and explaining the "tools and rules" of the craft so they don't have to hire someone to do it for them next time. I want to teach others how to craft their narrative in the way they want to because I don't believe in creative gatekeeping. AKA paying people every time you need to write or produce something!

My teaching method is very interactive, minus the talking!
As a professional editor, I will need to communicate with the writer (essays, novels, blog posts, podcasts, websites, etc.) frequently, but I can do this via Google docs. I can also be available via Zoom to discuss the project in person.
Here's the breakdown: Whatever material you need help with, written or audio, first I determine the stage it's in. If it's in the drafting stage, I will teach you how to bring it into the final stage of production. So for writing, I can guide you from brainstorming to final draft. For podcasting, also brainstorming to published audio, including hosting sites, cover art, and websites.
My lessons are a mixture of lecture and practical experience. I have lesson plans for true beginners, but mostly work with those who already have an idea or work in the beginning stages. In actuality this looks like: PowerPoint explanation, examples, practical practice (on your own piece), and discussions on specific details regarding your work.
I think my attention to detail as an editor, author, and podcaster would help anyone be successful at selling a narrative whether that's for an essay or a podcast episode!
