My teaching approach centers on active, student-led learning. I use inquiry-based strategies to spark curiosity and critical thinking, with an emphasis on hands-on exploration and real-world connections—especially in science and math. I regularly use tools like formative assessments and small group instruction to target misconceptions and support individual growth.
A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in or review, followed by a short mini-lesson using visuals or manipulatives. Students then engage in guided and independent practice through games, collaborative tasks, or stations. Each lesson ends with a reflection or “ticket out the door” to monitor understanding and guide next steps.
What sets me apart is my focus on metacognition and student ownership. I help learners develop the ability to reflect on their thinking and choose strategies that work best for them. My lessons are designed for early elementary students—particularly first graders—many of whom are working below grade level and benefit from structured, engaging, and differentiated instruction.
