About Esme

Hi! I’m Esme. I’m passionate about languages, travel, and creativity, and I love sharing that enthusiasm with others. I’ve spent time travelling and volunteering across Spain and Latin America, which not only improved my Spanish but gave me a huge appreciation for different cultures and ways of life. Outside of language learning, I’m a musician and love anything creative, from playing in a quartet to painting murals. I’m also really interested in the environment and sustainable living, and I try to bring that curiosity and energy into everything I do. My goal is to make learning engaging and relevant, and to help students feel confident and curious about the language — while also getting to know a little about the world along the way.

About the lesson

Techniques and Methodology I take a personalised and supportive approach to teaching Spanish, tailoring each lesson to the student’s needs, learning style, and exam goals. I combine clear explanations of grammar with lots of practical speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice to build both confidence and accuracy. I like to keep lessons interactive and engaging, using real-life examples, conversational practice, and exam-style questions to make the language feel alive and relevant. Lesson Structure A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though I can adapt depending on the student’s needs. I usually start by revisiting previous content to reinforce learning, then introduce new material, and finish with a short recap or practice activity to consolidate understanding. Experience and Qualifications I hold a degree in Music but have extensive experience working and travelling in Spanish-speaking countries, where I deepened my language skills and cultural understanding. My background in teaching and working with young people has also given me strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently. Who My Lessons Are For I tutor GCSE and A Level Spanish students of all abilities, whether they need help catching up, want to boost their grades, or are aiming for top exam results. I also support students who simply want to build confidence in using Spanish in real-life situations alongside their studies.
