About Mary
I have tutored many age groups and subjects over the years ranging from first grade math to LSAT prep. My most frequent employment has been as a caretaker for children so I have strengthened my capacities for patience and love of learning. Helping young minds grow is very rewarding and I believe fully that intelligence and academic skills are learned, not genetic. My tutoring style embraces individual strengths and rewarding effort over numbers As learning is not one size fits all, nor a linear process.

In school I have done very well for myself in these areas, as essay writing and reading comprehension are of the utmost importance in a humanities degree and in preparing for tests like the LSAT. I love teaching others these skills as they were certainly not my strengths early in school. Watching people grow in confidence in such skills brings mw immense joy!
