About Orhan

My name is Orhan Sait, and I am a qualified music educator with a specialisation in classical piano, songwriting, music production, and composition for video games. I possess advanced knowledge in these fields and have a genuine passion for the subjects.

My teaching journey began at the Victorian College of the Arts, where I achieved a High Distinction (H1) in Private Studio Teaching. Since then, I have dedicated myself to fostering a love for music in my students, encouraging them to explore these disciplines and imparting my knowledge to the next generation of musicians.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy focuses on the effective use of YouTube as a valuable educational tool. YouTube holds considerable potential in the field of music education due to its vast knowledge base and informative videos.

My approach emphasises student-centred learning and constructivism, equipping students with the skills they need to build confidence and foster autonomous learning.

Lessons typically run for either 30 minutes or 1 hour, depending on the individual student’s needs.

I hold a Bachelor of Music in Performance (Piano) from the Victorian College of the Arts and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and a Master of Teaching (Music) from the University of Melbourne.

My experience spans various secondary schools across Melbourne, where I have taught both instrumental and classroom music lessons. Additionally, I worked with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for four years, providing instruction in piano, songwriting, and music production.

I have provided private classical piano and composition lessons both independently and via a private piano school.

My composition studies include mentorship from Dr. Anthony Lyons (Film and Video Game music) and guidance from Nfa Jones (1200 Techniques) and Jesse Hooper (Killing Heidi) in Hip Hop and Pop music. My primary piano teacher was Professor Max Cooke.

My lessons suit all ages, levels, and abilities.
