About Fiona
An English teacher who's actually French ? I get that a lot! I've been studying English and in English for years now, and have been living in Ireland since 2018. I am fascinated by the English language, but teaching is really about the people I can interact with. My strenght is that I've been there before too! Learning English is no easy thing and so, as a non-Native speaker, I believe I can help students understand better the different aspects of English, as well as the differences there are between English culture and theirs. I've also studied a but of American and Irish culture/History at university, and like to add them up to my lesson.
Also, I'm a huge nerd, so talking about books, movies, series, and History with my students makes it more interesting than just having them learn all the irregular verbs by heart (truly, no one does that). And I would gladly do so sharing a cuppa.
And if you're interested in improving your French, I've gone through all the struggle of learning French as a student, so I can help with that, but I can also be your conversational buddy if you wish!

I like to take a more task-based and student-centered approach when teaching. Building your knowledge of the language by slowly working on different aspects such as grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, but also skills including speaking, reading, listening and writing. Of course, if you'd rather focus on one area, I can adapt at ease and use different materials (e.g. articles, news, books, movies, etc.) to keep you working on your English! Some people prefer to speak, others to write, others to boost their grammar, and that's perfectly fine :)
