About Sophie
I am a recent UCL graduate currently taking a gap year before beginning my masters. My attendance and punctuality throughout my time in education and employment has been very consistent as I’m organised and reliable. I am enthusiastic about politics and very experienced across a range of topics within this discipline. Aside from this, I am confident, friendly and willing to learn from my students as well. By this, I mean that together we can organise our sessions in a way that most suits your style of learning. A key benefit is that I definitely over-prepared for my exams, so I still have all my resources (past papers, revision cards, posters, textbooks, etc).

I specialise mainly in global politics (e.g., war and conflict, terrorism, international organisations, globalisation, etc) and gender studies. However, I also possess specific knowledge regarding data analysis, British politics, identity politics, public policy, ethics and various regional contexts (Middle East, Latin America, etc). This is suitable for anyone studying GCSE or A Level.
I am completely flexible in terms of lesson length, anything between 30 minutes to an hour is average. My style of teaching is two-sided. I will provide activities/tasks, talk through examples, give feedback for marked work and provide thorough explanations and resources for any concept.
My experience in teaching/tutoring comes from small class based presentations I have led both within and outside my university. This has enhanced my organisational skills as well as my ability to explain topics precisely and clearly in an accessible manner.
