About Ali

I am an immigrant from Turkey, and I have built my communities in San Francisco, New York, and most recently in Detroit. I am currently working with the Detroit Justice Center. In addition to my legal practice, I am a writer with a drive for creative questions; my work centers changing long-standing practices towards equitable, just futures. As a person, I am easy going, caring, and connective; I have experience in bridging across cultural barriers and creating learning experiences that are grounding and exciting.

About the lesson

I am a creative thinker with a focus on care-based space making. To me teaching begins with relationship building, not reproducing an expected model but through an understanding of your visions, needs, and strengths to chart a path together.

I am a writer of creative non-fiction and poetry. I have edited many essays and articles as editor of Yale's law journal. I help people tell their stories, find the tensions and questions that can help them create compelling pieces.

I got into most law schools during my application process; I am currently registering with the bar to practice in Michigan. My practice has a public interest focus, and I'd be excited to talk about law school itself and what can follow afterwards.

Deadly! If you are looking for LSAT tutoring if any kind, Ali is the best there is. They are very knowledgable of the different subjects and presents the information in different ways to build/further my understanding. Independent of their tutoring expertise, Ali is an amazing individual. I have tried a variety of tutors and subscription based classes and none have come close to the 1 on 1 time with them. The environment is the perfect balance of support and challenging. I can't recommend Ali enough! If you are looking for a LSAT tutor, look no further.
