About Callum Jack
I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate with a Master’s by Research, driven by a strong passion for engineering and a long-term ambition to work within motorsport and aerodynamics. My research focuses on bio-inspired passive drag-reduction techniques, with the aim of challenging conventional aerodynamic design approaches. I genuinely enjoy lecturing because it allows me to help students truly understand complex engineering concepts, bridge theory with real-world applications, and develop the confidence needed to succeed in demanding technical fields. I am also a big believer that teaching improves the teacher, therefore I can further hone my skills in what I love. Outside of academia, I love the great outdoors! I have trekked the Tour du Mont Blanc, trad climbed the Peak District, cycled from my doorstep in Cambridge to Croatia, via ferrata Hochkonig and much more...

I have a first class honours in mechanical engineering from the University of Lincoln. I have published conference papers from my Masters by Research and have two journal papers pending. I have taught 3rd year Engineering students in CFD for 2 semesters. My background is tailored to teach CFD, CAD, MATLAB, fluid and thermodynamics. Lessons are structured and tailored to your specific module, coursework, or project requirements. Emphasis is placed on completing the task but also instilling core physics-based reasoning and numerical methods. Support is provided in CAD, MATLAB, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and CFD concepts at university level. Tailored to your desired software. Typical sessions last 60 minutes, however for CFD I suggest longer sessions. They are delivered online with clear explanations and worked examples. Suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students seeking deeper understanding and confidence.
