About Janie
Hi! I have taught and tutored English for years through all levels of academia. I am currently a graduate student teaching college level English, Rhetoric and Composition. I have several Masters degrees in Teaching and Writing.
I love talking to people and getting to know them. I love helping students increase their abilities in reading and writing.

I use a traditional yet creative approach to teaching which is a three step process:
Step 1: Explain concept/idea
Step 2: Provide an example, go through the examples myself so students can see my thinking
Step 3: Guide students through their own thinking by talking through their examples, thoughts and making connections
But, within these three basic steps are an endless possibility for creativity in thought, communication, and building understanding!
