About Matthew
I have been tutoring English in person for several years. My students have gained a better understanding of grammar in my lessons and have become more confident, fluent speakers of English. Although I always do my best to provide interesting and effective lessons, I encourage my students to seek out English media that they enjoy, such as magazines, TV shows, movies, or music. I think of myself as both a teacher and a coach, because I expect my students to put in consistent study time outside the classroom as well.

I have a variety of exercises to work on grammar and vocabulary. In addition, I also encourage my students to practice all four core skills (reading, speaking, listening, and writing) in topics and media that interest them. Learning a language is a long-term process that requires a lot of input, as well as feedback and correction from native speakers.
