About Megan
I am a Ph.D. student in Developmental Psychology at The Ohio State University, where I study language, reading, and child development. As a first-generation college student, I understand the challenges of navigating higher education and am passionate about helping students build confidence alongside academic success. I earned my bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Criminology from Florida State University, where I was on the Honor Roll all four years.

My teaching approach is personalized, interactive, and focused on understanding rather than memorization. I adapt each lesson to a student's learning style by combining guided practice, real-world examples, visual explanations, and active problem-solving. My goal is to help students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed independently.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing material and identifying areas of difficulty. We then work through new concepts step-by-step, practice with guided examples, and finish with independent problems or application questions to reinforce learning. I also provide study strategies, test-taking tips, and personalized feedback throughout the session.
What sets me apart is my combination of research experience, teaching, and firsthand understanding of the college experience.
Who my lessons are for: Anyone! I tailor each lesson to your individual goals and experience level; below are some examples.
- Elementary School: Reading, phonics, vocabulary, language development, reading fluency, and comprehension. I focus on building strong foundational literacy skills through engaging, evidence-based instruction.
- Middle School: Reading comprehension, writing, study skills, and psychology or science coursework, while strengthening critical thinking and academic confidence.
- High School: Psychology, research methods, writing, study strategies, AP Psychology, and college preparation, with support tailored to each student's goals.
