About Ruth
I studied french horn, violin, piano, and singing from the age of 8. At 15 I received a full scholarship to study at the Purcell School for Young Musicians, and the Royal College of Music's junior department on saturdays. I later went on to get a Bachelors of Music with Honors from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. I performed as a soloist, in chamber ensembles and with Orchestras such as the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. However what I enjoy most is teaching and facilitating workshops. For the last 2 years I have been volunteering in refugee camps in Greece and working with displaced people in Athens. Some of my work here involves teaching music and running workshops with people from diverse backgrounds with a mix of musical cultures and languages.

My teaching style is flexible and tailored to the learning style that works best for you, as well as your particular interests and goals. I have experience in and enjoy teaching people of all ages and abilities. I combine both analytical and creative practices and try to help students develop into well-rounded musicians.
