About Dan
I will teach you by explaining concepts by appealing to your own experiences to make ideas seem more familiar! My master's thesis explored the idea of civic friendship as it appeared in Plato's Republic, so I know the difficulty of making foreign ideas easy to grasp in a different time and place. As a tutor, then, I understand the difficulty of mastering abstract concepts and will make sure to develop a plan to help you succeed!

I aim to connect with high school and college age students and teach in philosophy, political theory, and the humanities or social sciences broadly! I focus in my mentorship and teaching on helping students to see the personal relevance of topics which seem dry, foreign, or outdated.
