About Scarlett
Hi! My name is Scarlett and I’m from England. Learning and teaching languages is my true passion. I believe that languages are one of the best ways to connect with others, discover different cultures and learn more about the world around us.
I have loved experiencing both sides of the language-learning journey: first as a student of Modern Languages, and now as a teacher. Having studied languages myself for many years, I understand the challenges and rewards that come with learning to understand and communicate in a language different from your own. In many ways, I’m still a student too, because with languages, there is always something new to learn!
As a teacher, I aim to help my students feel confident, motivated and excited about their progress. I want to create an encouraging environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and challenging yourself. My goal is not only to help you improve your language skills, but also to help you enjoy the process and discover the confidence to communicate in a new language.

I take a friendly yet focused approach to language learning, with a passion for encouraging students throughout their language-learning journey. My aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, pushing themselves outside their comfort zone and, most importantly, having fun with the language.
I tailor my lessons to each student’s individual needs, using a variety of resources and activities alongside targeted grammar consolidation to build both confidence and accuracy. I can adapt my teaching to students of all ages and levels, from primary and secondary school through to GCSE, A Level and university level.
I have four years’ experience as a private French tutor and have also taught English in two schools in Spain. I currently teach English at Sorbonne University in Paris, giving me experience working with students from a wide range of abilities.
